Outlands is an invitation to travel to the afterlife. The opening note of the composition is surprisingly light: an invigorating range of bright citrus fruits, underlined by a spicy lemon. However, as the journey continues, the landscape becomes more distant and more extraordinary. A rich, multifaceted patchouli – projecting heat, humidity and greenery in equal measure – forces the intrepid traveler to sink into the cryptic landscape. Finally, an amber chord – resonating with the power of balms and resins – encourages a progression towards the ultimate encounter, where we find ourselves reflected and redone.
